What is a CCV?

CCV stands for Credit Card Validation (or Verification) Value.

The CCV (Credit Card Verification) number is the last 3 digits on the back of your credit card. It appears after and to the right of your card number. By providing this number, it verifies that the credit card is in the physical possesion of the person attempting to use it.
